How and why it affected my credit card to open and close a credit card?
I see a great deal in opening a store credit card and get a prize or a bonus. If I want the big discount to open credit card and then get the discount but do not want or need credit card at all. Is it better to close that new card or keep it open with a zero balance? What are the opening and closing accounts affect my score credit?
Your credit score is based on history. If you open an account, your score will be temporarily down. Over time it is retrieved from that. Closing an account is a somewhat different matter. Depending on the total amount of its claims (in addition the boundaries of all accounts), closing an account can lower your score if significantly reduces the total credit. From this point of view, leaving the active card with a zero balance help your score. However have an account there may be another avenue for potential fraud. I, personally, I do not use close accounts for that reason. Many card companies also closed an account automatically after a period of inactivity, three years is common. There are lots of things that can make your score a few points vary. Honestly, do not worry about their own lot. Use credit responsibly, NEVER late on a payment and is paid each month. Your score will take care of itself.
